Confession: I did not want to write this blog this week.
I’m exhausted. I’m grumpy. I’m discouraged. My meditation practice this morning only took the edge off my funk. I’m glad I work and live alone so that others don’t have to put up with me right now. (Apologies in advance to the people on my afternoon Zoom call.)
Good thing I had already planned this blog to be my last. Not forever. Don’t freak out. I had already planned to take July off from blog writing and public events. I need to recharge, regroup, and do a lot of behind-the-scenes work at the vast Nicole Havelka Consulting empire (aka just me and a few loyal collaborators) so that I can emerge to celebrate my birthday month with y’all in August (Yay!) and prepare for some amazing events coming in fall.
Writing that last sentence made me less grumpy.
Here’s something else that will make me less grumpy — gratitude. I want to thank you, my readers, my cheerleaders, my first clients and friends. Although you may think that I’ve helped you get through the past year with my pep talks and abundant supply of yoga practices, you have helped me, too. I’ve survived starting a business in a pandemic because you have showed up — to classes, to webinars, to parties, to discussions. You did this all during one of the hardest seasons in which you could start new practices.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Let’s get some rest and come back more energetic than ever this fall. In the meantime, I’ll be posting on social media some of my favorite and most popular blog posts and videos of the past year. AND, you’re going to see a big announcement in mid-July about a new membership program bundling together my coaching, restorative yoga and meditation classes, and webinars. I can’t wait to let you in on my big plan!
Even with this brief pause, please stay in touch. You can still email, post comments and schedule consultations. I may be a little slower in responding and that means that I’m putting my feet up and turning my devices off for a while. But, I promise I will get back to you.
How about that? Writing this blog actually did make me feel better.
Stay tuned for more awesomeness coming your way: Sign up for my emails so you’ll be in the know AND you’ll get a free journal guidebook and six weeks of recorded meditations. That way you won’t miss me as much.
See you back on the blog in August!
SAVE THE DATES for two events of restorative yoga awesomeness for my August birthday month celebration:
- Starting Aug. 5: Birthday Month of Abundance Series Class. I’ll be teaching a weekly, online, donation-based restorative yoga and meditation class Wednesdays at 8:30 AM ET. Half of the proceeds go to the Black Lives Matter Movement.
- Aug. 15: Back to School Rest and Renewal. This restorative yoga and meditation class is for parents, students and teachers who need to recharge before fall. It’s designed to appeal to both the youngest and most wiggly among us and seasoned practitioners: Fun movement, restorative holds and meditations with lots of options! The great thing about yoga class at home is that you can do whatever you want, even walk away for a little bit and come back to what we’re doing. Individual and family tickets available.
Thank you for modeling taking care of yourself and scaling back for a while! It’s an important reminder that we all need to do so sometime.
